Hi guys, today I had my computerized technical drawing modules which basically learned about the basic of photoshop. Truthfully, this is my first time using photoshop so this program is new to me.
Well, because I am new to photoshop, I just learned how to use the tools from my lecturer. During our lessons, he explained how to use the tools and some selection techniques which after the demonstration he told us to remove 2 background pictures by using those techniques. On the other hand, the purpose of learning photoshop is because we gonna make a moodboard through photoshop.
Well, from all tools which we used to selecting an object such as Lasso Tool, Polygonal Lasso Tool, Magnetic Lasso Tool, Quick Selection Tool, and Magic Wand Tool, my favorite tool is Quick Selection Tool because by using this tool, it is easier for me to add or delete the area that I want to add or to delete. I can just press Alt when my quick selection tool is active.
Besides the quick selection tool, my second favorite tool is the Magnetic Lasso Tool, because it automatically go through the outer line of our object, even though sometimes it went inside the picture and cut some part of it. But, the disadvantages of the Magnetic Lasso Tool is we need to press Shift + Marquee Tools in order to add the area that we want to select, and press Shift + Alt + Marquee Tools in order to delete the area that has been selected which I found it is a bit complicated compared to the Quick Selection Tool.

Using Magnetic Lasso Tool
As you can see in this picture, some part of the foot have not been selected by the magnetic lasso tool and some part of it has been selected out of the picture. In order to select properly, we need to press Shift + Marquee Tools to select, and Shift + Alt + Marquee Tools to deselect the selection areas.

Using Quick Selection Tool
One of the advantages from Quick Selection Tool is it can automatically select the area which is in the range of the cursor. Besides automatically select the area, it is also easier for me to delete the area that I have been selected like what I mentioned before, by pressing Alt + Quick Selection Tool |

Basically, when fashion designers want to design clothes, there are some steps or called as process which they need to do before they come out with their design, such as moodboard and colour&textile boards.
Let's take a look at the definition!
Moodboards are made by designers which consist of theme, materials, color schemes, trends, and some examples of the fabrics. Moodboard shows the designers' concepts and ideas about their designs. The arrangement of this moodboard can be in various ways depend on ourselves.
Colour & Textile Boards are more focuse on the colour schemes and the pattern which later on can be applied to the designs.
After we do the mood boards and the colour&textile boards, lastly we start the technical flat drawing. The technical flat drawing is we do exactly the same with what we draw in a paper.
This is some example o technical flat.
In a nutshell, before we come up with our designs, we need to do research about the theme, ideas, concepts, textile innovation, colours, texture, and many others.
